Services 2018-01-25T12:05:31+00:00

Pointman Cebu has been assisting clients from other countries, continuously since 2004. We have served clients from the USA, England, Australia, Canada, and other countries.

One of the services we offer our clients is process serving. We can serve almost any legal or tax document you are in need of, throughout the Philippines.

If you are in need of this service, our first piece of advice is for you to locate and secure a lawyer/solicitor in your resident state, province, territory, or local area. This is very important because we must serve the documents in accordance with the local laws governing your location.

In the US, for example, each state will have specific, yet different requirements you must meet prior to serving documents on a defendant/respondent within the Philippines. So, you would be required to follow the local laws and regulations regarding divorce in your specific state, prior to retaining our services.

After securing a lawyer, contact us for assistance.

Our requirements, in order to make your case flow more smoothly, is to have you, your paralegal, or your attorney, email all necessary documents to us.

Additional requirements we have of our clients is to provide us with the location of the respondent, including his / her full name, and the complete address, or, as much of it is possible, including the barangay, city, town, or municipality in which the respondent resides. (If we are enlisted to have to locate and serve the respondent, we do charge an extra fee for this.) A fairly recent photo and other contact information on the respondent would be helpful, as well.

If you will include, at a minimum, the city and province of the respondent in your initial email, we will be able to give you a more accurate estimate, faster. Please keep in mind, we serve the entire country of the Philippines.

The last part of our requirements is payment. We only accept payment in full, prior to serving any documents in the Philippines. The primary way for us to receive funds is through PayPal online payment service. Contact us regarding other forms of payment.

If you would like further information regarding the service of divorce, tax, or other legal documents in the Philippines, please contact us.

As is any service which is provided by Pointman Cebu, you, the client, are guaranteed the best service available in the Philippines. We are the original and only, Pointman Cebu.

At Pointman Cebu, one of the more common services we provide is property and title research for clients all over the Philippines. This service gives real estate clients peace of mind, knowing they will be protected when seeking to purchase a property in the Philippines.

Pointman Cebu does property and title searches, ownership verification, and we verify tax payments have been paid on properties, which our clients may be interested in purchasing.

We make sure the person who is trying to sell our client the land and structure (if this applies), is whom they say they are and that they legally have the right to do so. We will travel to most areas of the Philippines in order to check a property out for a client. In the table below, we have a list of general pricing for given provinces and areas. We have covered most of the provinces of the Philippines, by listing the areas in this manner. However, if the area you are interested in is not listed, please contact us for a quote.

SERVICES OFFERED:

We will guarantee our client that we will do a complete and thorough property research, to put his or her mind at ease. We can secure any and all of the following for our client:

We can locate the name of the actual property owner listed on the title. We can secure the date of the last paid taxes, the current assessed and appraised property values if any utilities are currently connected, and/or if utilities are approved to be connected to the property.

Lastly, we can give the client the basic structural layout and integrity of the building (any structures on the property), as well as some general improvements which may be needed, in order to make a structure livable at the time of the purchase.

Please note, the fees listed are estimates. The actual fees may be higher, but also can be lower, depending on the work we are enlisted to do for the client.

Here is an example of what we do for our clients, concerning real estate:

From time to time, we are contacted by clients who live abroad but are interested in purchasing a home or property in the Philippines. Below is a photo which was sent to us by a client, who had been offered to purchase a small home in Sibulan, Negros Oriental.

The person offering the property came off as the owner wishing to sell it to him. The amount they were asking for was $11,000 USD. While that doesn’t seem like a lot of money, in western terms anyway, read on before making such quick assumptions. Fortunately, the gentleman took time to find someone who could verify information for him, prior to making the purchase. He enlisted us, and this is what we found:

1. The home didn’t look exactly as it was shown to him in the photo. In fact, it was in serious need of repair, unlike the way it appeared in the original photo, above.

Below are five images of the home, as we saw it on the day we visited the property.

Image stills from a video shot by Jim Sibbick

Please forgive the quality of the images, as they were stills captured from a video we took for the client. The video was sent to the client as proof, along with copies of the taxes and other public documents.

2. The owner told our client that the home had water lines inside, and running water in the house. They neglected to tell him that you had to pump it by hand and take it inside with a bucket. Oh, no, there were no water lines in the house and the toilet was Filipino style.

3. Upon doing further research on the property, we discovered the following:

The person attempting to sell our client the home, had no connection with the property or the home, as the owner. In fact, his/her name wasn’t anywhere on any paperwork regarding the property.

Two completely different people were listed on the property. One was listed as the home owner; the other was the owner of the land.

In this case, and after carefully looking over the entire residence, it would be cheaper and easier to simply demolish that home and build a new one on the property, if you could get all the paperwork to match.

So, buyer beware, when purchasing property or a home in the Philippines. There are many wonderful people here. But, there are some who are not. Make sure, 100% sure, that you are covered when it comes to purchasing real estate here.

If you would like for us to research a particular property for you, please contact us.

Explanation of Fees

In our travels throughout the Philippines, we have learned that it isn’t always easy to go where you want, when you want. This usually applies to the more rural areas of the provinces, rather than the larger towns or cities in the Philippines.

On occasion, we may be delayed due to the lack of transportation to carry us onward to our final destination. When we get into very rural parts of the country, transportation schedules are not as frequent, nor as reliable as they would be in the more populated areas. Weather is another factor, which may cause us to be delayed. This is especially true this year, as it seems as though rainy season will never end!

Also, once we have completed our property research, we may not be able to return to Cebu on a specific day due to limited boat or plane schedules. So, we take this into consideration when setting our prices. However, you can rest assured that Pointman Cebu will secure a guaranteed report for you, helping you make the decisions you need regarding the purchase of property.

If you would like further information regarding the service of divorce, tax, or other legal documents in the Philippines, please contact us.

As is any service which is provided by Pointman Cebu, you, the client, are guaranteed the best service available in the Philippines. We are the original and only, Pointman Cebu.

Do you feel uncomfortable about something concerning your business or personal relationship with a Filipino? If so, Pointman Cebu can help you obtain peace of mind.

Finding scammers is the primary reason Pointman Cebu began. Over the years, we have helped many clients by providing them with information they needed to determine where they would go in a relationship, business or personal.

Since the vast majority of our cases have involved male foreigners, typically anyway, meeting and becoming involved with Filipinas, that is where our primary focus lies. We provide our clients with “Peace of Mind” reports, to help make them feel at ease concerning chat-mate, girlfriend, fiancée, wife, or a business partner. Sometimes, we have found the person was good. Unfortunately, at other times, we have found the person to be out for one thing… cash, and lots of it.

Pointman Cebu is here to help stop that from happening to others. On this site, our primary service is to provide you, our client, with answers you seek. We can verify whether your relationship holds water, and if your girl is with you for all the right reasons or not.

Since the internet was introduced to the Philippines, only a few short years ago, many girls have learned that they can get money from one, two, or even ten unsuspecting chat mates, often simultaneously. This is why we offer this service, to check out a Filipina whom you may suspect is not being true to you. We feel that everyone deserves to have their conscience at ease. This certainly applies if someone is investing time, energy, and genuine emotions into a relationship, and in trying to get his girl friend or fiancée to his country (which can also cost a bundle of money), in order to start a life with him. Besides, an interview won’t cost as much as a plane ticket to the Philippines, certainly not as much as a divorce lawyer will.

You know, some people will e-mail us or post on forums attacking us and what we do here. They come off as holier than thou and believing that I, personally, do not like Filipinos. This is not true. If I didn’t like Filipinos, I certainly wouldn’t be living in the Philippines and among so many of them. I love being around and accepted by Filipinos, especially those here in this part of the Philippines, because they are the warmest people on the face of this planet.

However, we are also being realistic when we say there are scammers here, just as there are in all countries in the world. We only focus on those in the Philippines because it is our home and where we work to help others. So, please understand one thing about us. It is not our intention to make you feel paranoid, or to make you think “all” Filipinas are bad, as that is not true. There are many wonderful women in this country, and many of them are the best that you could ever hope to be with.

We offer full service US visa processing for fiancée (K1) and spousal (I-130 and K3) applicants, as well as immediate relative petitions (CR-1 and IR1) and tourist visa assistance. We also assist with DCF (Direct Consular Filing) of eligible visas if you qualify. This means you file directly to the Embassy, instead of filing stateside. This cuts the processing time from 8-10 months down to 6-8 weeks. Only Immigrant visas can be filed using the DCF method, fiance visas do not qualify.

Most of the delays and denials of spousal and fiancée visa applicants are the result of one or more errors in paperwork and/or lack of all requirements being met. Once a petition is filed for a spousal or fiancé visa applicant, most of the burden is placed on the overseas applicant. In many instances, the applicants are confused and at a loss as to what is expected of them, and exactly what they need to do to complete the process. There are requirements one must meet from both countries, and there is little help available from the respective government agencies.

We operate differently than most US based companies offering visa services. For one thing, we are right here in the Philippines, to assist the applicant from start to finish in their native language. We do this all the time, and stay abreast of the many frequent changes in the process. We like to meet our clients face to face in order to provide a more “personalized” service, and often travel to other parts of the Philippines to meet them. We have remained friends with many of our past visa clients. We can arrange for someone to meet the applicant at the Manila airport when going for medical exam and interview, and escort them through the maze that is Manila, which can be very intimidating for many girls who have traveled little outside their own barangay. We conduct “mock interviews” of the recipient, to prepare her for the sometimes grueling visa interview.

All this for a fraction of what US based immigration attorneys charge.
